Souvenirs  des « Marronniers »

Je tiens à vous remercier pour votre gentil acceuil et vos bon soins.

Nous avons vraiment apprécié notre séjour, aussi bien que le comfort et l’intérieur agréable de votre gîte, situé dans le Pays d’Auge aux charmes multiples.

Ce qui a rendu pour nous le souvenir vraiment inoubliable sont les couchers de soleil. Celui qui a pu suivre pendant prés d’une demie heure la lente descente de l’astre à l’horizon, ressent en rentrant dans la maison, une sorte d’étourdissement. Les éclats de lumière, le changement continu des plans, le dialogue du soleil avec les massifs nuageux ne cesse d’étonner l’observateur attentif. Et comme font les oiseaux, il reste émerveillé par tant de beauté et se tait respectueusement.

It is with a feeling of gratitude that we have left your gentle abode. We appreciated your warm reception, the good care you took of your guests in so many ways and the comfort and the cosiness of your gîte. My son in law who is English, felt ever so much at ease thanks to your fluency in English!

The surrounding region has a lot to offer. Charming views, gently winding roads, beautiful houses and markets that make shopping in France so delectable.

The most unforgettable experience I would like to mention has to do with the sunsets one can admire at the end of your lawn. The possibility of participating to the dramatic beauty of the sunsets is a very special treat. In less than half an hour one can watch the slow descent of the warm red disc, the changing reflection over the mountainous ridges of the clouds, the shifting rays of light, speeding in all directors. It makes one hold one’s breath. Filled with the image of a Paradise Regained, one enters the house as taciturn as the birds that stop twittering as soon as the sunlight dies.
